“Axa Brâncusi” (“Brâncusi Axis”) from Târgu Jiu will receive Golden Apple

The Tourism Press Club – FIJET Romania has announced that the Monument of Heros, created by the famous sculptor Constantin Brâncusi will be awarded in October this year the distinction “Golden Apple”. It is the equivalent of Oscar prize, awarded by the international press of tourism. The Jury of the International Federation of Journalists and Editorialists of Tourism (FIJET) decided last month that the prestigious prize would be awarded, in 2014, to three touristic objectives “the communities of which contribute to the national and international development and promotion of tourism values” – it is outlined in the letter addressed to the Management of the Tourism Press Club – FIJET ROMANIA. Besides the “Brîncusi Axis” from Târgu Jiu, this distinction will be also awarded to Postojna Cave from din Slovenia and to the antic town Byblos from Lebanon – informed us Tijani HADDAD, president of FIJET.
This will be the 5th Golden Apple trophy that rewards Romanian tourist attractions. The first was awarded in 1975, to Moldovita Monastery and to the attractions from Bucovina. The next three were awarded in 2009 to the ecotourist area Marginimea Sibiului, to the Biosphere Reservation of Danube Delta, respectively to the air company Blue Air – stated Marian Constantinescu, president of the Tourism Press Club – FIJET Romania.
Bucharest was awarded the title of „Town of Peace”
Bucharest has become the first capital town in the world that received the distinction of „ Town of Peace” from the prestigious International Institute of Peace by Tourism (IIPT) and Skal International, the largest organization of tourism professionals worldwide. The distinction was awarded during a ceremony organized in Herastrau Park in the Capital. During it, 12 trees were planted, as symbol of renaissance, durability and peace and two commemorative plates were inaugurated dedicated to the values supported by the Skal organisation on international level.

The event was part of the second edition of International Symposium Young Skal (24-27 April), meeting that gathered young tourism specialists from Germany, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, USA, Belgium, Croatia, Romania etc. The program included the presentations of some tourism specialists: Marianne Krohn, vice-president of Skal International, Razvan Filipescu, president of the National Authority for Tourism (ANT), Razvan Pîrjol, president of Skal International Romania; Antoni Kuhnen, honorific president of Skal International Romania; Calin Ile, general manager of Ibis Hotel – North Station etc.
It was resumed the Bucharest City Tour

Regia Autonoma de Transport Bucure?ti (RATB) has resumed, at the beginning of May, the drives by double-deckers for the tourist line Bucharest City Tour. As in the previous years, they will connect the main touristic objectives of the Capital. The track has a length of 15.4 kilometres, included 14 stations and may be crossed within around 50 minutes on the following route: Presei Square, Village Museum, Triumphal Arch, Victoriei Square, Victoriei Avenue, Palace of Parliament, Unirii Square, University, Romana Square, Victoriei Square, Charles de Gaulle Square, Kiseleff Road and Presei Square. The rates for the touristic transportation are unchanged, being the lowest comparatively to European touristic capitals: 25 lei/card, for adults and 10 lei/card, for children aged between 7 and 14 years. The children under 7 years, with adults, have free transportation. The trip card is valid 24 hours as of the first validation and may be bought from the touristic buses.
8th edition of Hotel Tourism & Leisure
The 8th edition of Hotel Tourism Leisure & Investment Conference, one of the most important events of hospitality industry was organised between 22–23 May 2014, at JW Marriott Grand Hotel. The calendar of manifestation included conferences about the future, interactive seminars and an exclusivist ceremony of for awarding the performers in the Romanian touristic industry, the most innovator projects in the hospitality field. They were designated based on online votes.

BLUE AIR re-launches the charter segment

The last aircraft included in the Blue Air fleet ( which increased from 6 to 8 planes) promotes a concept of design and painting. It is a Boeing 737 series 400 aircraft, the design being conceived and performed completely by Ciprian Ciuclea, Art Manager of Blue Air. The painting was performed by MRO Blue Air (Maintenance and Repair Organization Blue Air). The motto ”quality on accessible price”, remains a priority of Blue Air, property of Blue Air Airline Management Solutions.
The company announced that it will implement new services with a view to increase the quality of its offers. One of them targets the reactivation of the segment of charters for holiday destinations in Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum), Greece (Rhodos, Zakynthos and Corfu) and Israel (Tel Aviv) – declared Florentina Tatu, PR & Advertising Manager of Blue Air.
