Continental awarded by TripAdvisor
The well-known tourism website Trip Advisor awarded the Prize of Excellency for the year 2012, to Grand Hotel Continental from Bucharest. “It is a gorgeous boutique-like hotel that tries to restore the former glory” , „The furniture and accessories are elegant and comfortable”, „The staff is friendly and extremely amiable”, „I have experienced a feeling of being very welcome and very well cared and I am looking forward to return as well next year”. These are only few of the commentaries of the guests who visited the Romanian hotel complex. The visitors of the page TripAdvisor for Business awarded Grand Hotel Continental the best ratings, thus, the average on 2012 of 4.5 points brings the hotel the appreciation of TripAdvisor for an exceptional performance. TripAdvisor assigned the distinction with the following message: ”only the best in the field are awarded this prize”. The Continental Hotels chain has a tradition of over 20 years in Romania.
Eric Faidy, the president Michelin for Romania and Balkans, awarded to Sibiu, the former European cultural capital in 2007, the medal which confirms the status of unique town in Romania who received 3 stars in Michelin Green Guide. The ceremony that brought to the fore again the mayor Klaus Johannis represented the celebration of one year since the publication of Michelin Green Guide in Romania. On this occasion Faidy stated: “After spending much time learning, writing and discovering Romania, our writers wanted to offer the readers a useful tool of guidance. Sibiu is the only town from Romania that received 3 stars from Michelin specialists, which means that the «Small Vienna» must be visited without fail”. As it is known, another attraction in the area, rated with 3 stars as well, is the Museum from Dumbrava Sibiului.
According to the President Michelin Romania, among the criteria considered by specialists were the first impression of visitor, the fame and the popularity of the town, the artistic and historical value of the area, or the hospitality of inhabitants.
THOMAS COOK decided
After six months of evaluations and examinations, the German tour-operator Thomas Cook-Neckermann returned with a group of tourists in the resorts from Romanian seashore. According to the representatives of the company, the charter flights are weekly, during the period May 29th – October 2nd 2012 and are landing in Constanţa. According to the estimations, around 5,000 tourists from Germany, Austria, Poland and Czech are expected. Approximately 1,000 of them selected complexes with all-inclusive system. Among the hotels from Romanian seashore with which Thomas Cook-Nechemermann is collaborating we mention Amiral, Comandor, Iaki and Richmond from Mamaia, Europa from Eforie Nord, Cleopatra, Balada, Hora and Saturn from Saturn, Doina from Neptun etc. The travel partner from our country is Karpaten Turism, agency managed by Gheorghe Mărginean.
Blue Air has launched new flights from Satu Mare
The Romanian company Blue Air has launched two new flights taking off from Satu Mare to Torino Cuneo and Venice. The flights are active during the summer schedule 2012, respectively June 4th – October 27th 2012. The flights from Satu Mare towards the two destinations are operated round trip twice per week, as follows: during the period June 4th – September 30th 2012, the flights to Venice will be on Monday and Wednesday, and those to Torino Cuneo on Tuesday and Friday. During the period October 1st – 27th 2012, the flights to Venice will be operated on Wednesday and Saturday, and those towards Torino Cuneo, on Wednesday and Friday.
Blue Air announced as well the winter schedule 2012-2013. The popular destinations for spending the winter holidays appear in the new schedule for the period October 28th 2012 – March 30th 2013. The passengers benefit of attractive rates starting from 14.99 euros/flight segment (the airport rates are included and the places are limited). Let’s go in the Danube and Delta region
Every year on June 29th, 19 countries are celebrating the Danube Day. It is not a coincidence that between June 28th and 30th, at Romexpo Exhibition Centre is organised the 2nd edition of the International Fair „Danube & Delta”. The event is managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Romania. The fair “Danube & Delta 2012” has a program full of events such as the symposiums “Consolidation of the network of towns in the Danube area”, respectively „Sustainable development of the localities from Danube Delta”. The last day is dedicated specially to the tourism companies that will present the most interesting tourist offers. Among the personalities who announced their presence are His Excellency Michael Schwarzinger, the Ambassador of Austria in Bucharest, the multiple world champion Ivan Patzaichin (Association Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23) etc. Traveller Magazin is the media partner of the event.
Free wireless on City Tour
It has been recently launched the transport line Bucharest City Tour. The travellers benefit of an audio guide in Romanian and English, as well as free wireless internet. The four sightseeing buses, managed by Bucharest Autonomous Transportation Administration, have a capacity of 77 places each. They are travelling between 10.00 and 22.00. Among the sight-seeing appearing on this route are Herăstrau Park, Village Museum, Triumphal ARCH, Antipa Museum, Romanian Peasant Museum, Romanian Athenaeum, National Museum of Art, National Museum of History, Parliament Pallace, Old Court etc. The price of a transport card, valid 24 hours from the first validation, is of 25 lei (around 6 euros) for adults and 10 lei (over 2 euros) for children with ages between 7 and 14 years.
