Orbis Hotel Group, the largest hotel group in Eastern Europe and representing all the Accor Hotels brands in the area, together with FAB Industry announced the start of the works for the construction of the first ibis Styles hotel in Romania. The property will be located in the western city of Arad and is to be opened in the second part of 2017. „Romania is a very promising country with a great potential, one of the key markets in the area and an important element of our development strategy. By bringing ibis Styles in Romania we wish to innovate and create a new hotel experience. ibis Styles offers a unique design and feeling, welcoming and friendly services” – said Gilles Clavie, President and CEO of Orbis Hotel Group.

Ibis Styles Arad will be classified at 3 stars, offering 72 rooms. It will have a restaurant, lobby-bar; three conference rooms and a multifunctional room for events will complete the business area.
Balvanyos Grand Hotel (Târgu Secuiesc), Cubix and Kolping in Brașov are the three Romanian hotels selected to use an innovative European concept. The neZEH aims at modernizing hotels in order to make them use as little energy as possible. The project will run for three years and includes 16 hotels in 7 countries (Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain and Sweden). Nearly Zero Energy Hotel (neZEH) is cofinanced through the Inteligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme of the European Comission. The project is being managed by a board of 10 partners, our country being reprezented by the Energy Management Agency and Broasov Environment Protection.

”The golden rule in tourism is to invest in promotion at least 1% of the revenues obtained by each country. At prezent international tourism represents 7% of the total world exports and 30% of the service exports. The tourism share of the total goods and services exports went up from 6% to 7%. BUCHAREST – Carabin at Pullman, Conde at Athenee
Patrick Carabin is now the general manager of the Pullman Bucharest, a location of AccorHotels. Prior to this Carabin managed for 8 years in Poland two hotels of the Sofitel brand: Sofitel Warsaw Victoria and Sofitel Grand Sopot. „The business travel represents a bit more than 75% of our market but we also initiated partnerships with travel agencies and other commercial partners in order to develop more the leisure travel market” – said Patrick Carabin.
The centrally located Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest received Franz Conde in its team, a new executive chef for the restaurants and catering services of the hotel. Conde started his career in Venezuela, following the classes of CEGA – Centro de Estudios Gastronomicos. The story of Chef Conde in the Hilton Hotels & Resorts started in 2007 when he joined the Hilton in Amsterdam, being the main chef of the hotel for the next 9 years.
BRAȘOV – Lux Divina is repositionning
The Events, Conferences and Exhibitions Center Lux Divina in Brașov announced new facilities for the MICE buyers. Opened in 2013 the complex offers accommodation and superior quality services in organizing events, commercial presentations or different kinds of conferences or reunions. AVIRO AIR starts the charters
Following the rising demand for charter flights there opened a new company specialized on this segment, operating flights in Europe and the Middle East. Aviro Air, carrier since 2014, owns two British Aerospace (BAe) 146-300 planes, each with 112 seats. „The Aviro Air fleet will enlarge till next year and we will cover more destinations. Our target is to offer good quality services and high performance to our clients. We intend to operate charter flights from Bucharest and Romania but also to sustain Romanian incoming, by bringing foreign travellers from the main markets. We cooperate with many touroperators and we have an ambitious plan, aiming to be an important player on the charters market in Romania” – said Aurel Biţianu, CEO Aviro Air.
