The online rezervation platform HotelGuru.ro (listing about 1.800 hosting units in Romania, out of the over 145.000 in Europe), released a study that shows which where, in 2015, the most appreciated hotels in Romania.
Most of the reviewers said that they preffer to spend the holidays in the resort of Băile Herculane, enjoying the SPA potential and the thermal waters. The most appreciated hotel was Afrodita Resort & SPA. It is rated 3 stars, it is 10 floors high and offers 220 rooms. Among the facilities there are two restaurants, a SPA centre with swimming pool, sauna etc, a fitness centre and a play zone for children. The hotel is a part of Bacolux chain, the later being a owned by a group of investors from the city of Craiova.
SANCONFIND – a place for your health
On Prahova Valley, in Poiana Câmpina, less than 100 km north of Bucharest, opened about one year ago the Medical Center SanConfind. Here, for the pools with mineral salt waters, a source known since 1510s is being used.
The center is a private investment. It offers a SPA treatment concept with medical recovery facilities, using the newest technologies known in the domain. General Electric and Siemens are two of the equipment producers for the most accurate investigations necessary. At this point the second part of the investment plan is ongoing, including the opening of a farmacy inside the hospital. The third step of the project consists in building a hotel that will be connected with the medical centre through a glass passage.”The total investment is estimated at 22 milion euro” – said the business man Ioan Simion, owner of SanConfind.
2017 – The 1st HILTON GARDEN INN
Hilton Worldwide announced for 2017 the opening of a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Romania. This will be located in the area of the historical city centre of Bucharest, in a building listed as historical monument on Doamnei Street.
The hotel will be a 4 stars one and will offer 201 rooms. Essam Abouda, operations vicepresident for Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey of Hilton Worldwide, said that the intention is to open more locations in our country: „Romania, same as Russia and Turkey, is a growing market in the region I coordinate, with a rising potential for our brands. We intend to expand on the local market with 7 other hotels.” Hilton Garden Inn is one of the hotel brands of Hilton Worldwide, chain that operates globally over 4600 hotels.
THE SUN: ”Don’t you miss Transilvania! ”
The jurnalists from The Sun recommend travellers to visit Transilvania, not only to follow the Dracula path, but to enjoy amazing panoramic views, for its castles as in the Harry Potter stories, as well as for its pubs hidden on winding and narrow streets. They remind that Lonely Planet named Transilvania a must visit destination for 2016. The city of Cluj boosts with theaters and art galleries, with great contemporary approach at the multifunctional „Fabrica de pensule”. The jurnalists from The Sun say that a city tour of Cluj should end at the National History Museum where one can admire a medical laboratory and its collection of healing potions. The 14th century Bran Castle, an inspiration source for the residence of Count Dracula in the novel of Bram Stoker, offers impressive views – underline the editors.
The second BEST WESTERN PLUS
The Best Western chain, operating 12 hotels in Romania, opened its second Best Western Plus in Bucharest (after the Mari Vila Hotel).
Best Western Plus Expocenter is a 4 stars unit, 12 km away from the International Airport Henri Coanda and close to: Romexpo Exhibitions centre, World Trade Center and the Herastrău Park. The hotel offers 87 rooms (standard, superior, suite, and comfort suite), 2 restaurants, 3 conference rooms and 2 multifunctional event rooms etc.”Our main target is the business segment but we are open to all markets” – said Bianca Sipu, reprezentative Best Western Plus Expocenter.
BLUE AIR – charter flights to attrcative destinations
Starting the month of June Blue Air is launching charter flights from the International Airport „Traian Vuia” in Timișoara, towards five holiday destinations in Greece – Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes, Zakynthos – and Turkeya – Antalya and Bodrum (the last one being an absolute novelty). The flights to Crete will be operated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting June 7, while those to Rhodes will be operated on Fridays starting June 17. The first charter flight to Zakynthos will be on June 13. These flights will have a weekly frequency, linking Timisoara to the Greek city on Mondays. The flights to Antalya will be twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the flights to Bodrum will be operated once a week, on Thursdays, starting June 16.
