Romanian Snooker Federation (FRS), Innovation Travel and IBSF – International Billiards and Snooker Federation announced that the World Snooker Championship – IBSF, Under 21 in Bucharest will take place between 17th and 26th of July 2015, at Caro Hotel Complex, traditional partner of the Romanian Snooker Federation. The competition will reunite about 150 participants to the two categories, women and men, from over 50 countries (Australia, USA, Brazil, Canada, Austria, Netherlands, England, Northern Ireland, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia, Japan, China, South Africa, Qatar, Australia, etc.). 26 international referees will also arrive in Bucharest. The championship will be open to the public. The event will also be important for tourism. Participants and supporters will be able to familiarize themselves with Bucharest and its surroundings – Raluca Repanovici, managing partner Innovation Travel stated during a press conference.
“It is the first world snooker championship U21 organized in Romania and, on the other hand, the second world snooker championship U21 organized in Europe in the last 10 years, the last having taken place in 2010 in Ireland. Our experience in organizing 4 European snooker championships in Romania, in 2006, 2010 and 2014 represented an important business card.” – Francisc Tobă, FRS president specified. Bucharest City Tour – unchanged fees

The fees for the sightseeing line “Bucharest City Tour”, managed by Bucharest Autonomous Transportation Direction (RATB) remain at the same level as last year: respectively 25 lei/card (about 6 Euros) for adults and 10 lei/card (over 2 Euros) for children between 7 and 14 years of age. Children aged up to 7 years, accompanied by adults, enjoy free transport. The travel card is valid for 24 hours from the first validation and can be purchased in sightseeing buses. With a length of 15.4 kilometres, the sightseeing line is operated with 4 double-decker buses with 77 seats, circulating daily between the hours of 10:00 – 21:00. It has been available for Romanian or foreign tourists since the half of May. The route includes 14 stations and can be travelled in about 50 minutes – RATB informs. Tourist are provided with audio guides in Romanian, English, French and Italian, maps and leaflets with information about tourist attractions on route, as well as free wireless internet. For 2015, the company estimates that “Bucharest City Tour” will offer services to over 50,000 tourists, about 4,000 more than last year.

Niels Mekenkamp, manager of Hospitality Pre-Sales – EMEA, showed during a presentation in Bucharest that “International experience proves an extremely fast return of the investment: in several months since the implementation, hotels register growths of 4-7% of their incomes, without any additional cost growths. Regarding profitability, the general results, but also the tourism results, confirm growths with values between 50 and 70%”.

DINO PARC in RÂȘNOV

It is located only 200 meters from Râșnov Fortress (Brașov County). It covers an area of 1.4 hectares and hosts the models of a number of 45 dinosaurs, the biggest being 22.4 meters in length and 20 meters in height, and the smallest of 30 centimetres. This is a part of Dino Parc patrimony, opened this month in Râșnov. The attraction is promoted as “The biggest dinosaurs park in South-Eastern Europe and the newest in the entire Europe”.  Mayor Adrian Veștea stated that “Dino Parc is a project which, together with Râșnov Fortress, visited last year by 240,000 tourists, and other objectives, will attract even more tourists. If in 2004 we offered 100 accommodations, we currently reached over 2,500. Most investment projects have been accomplished with European funding, Norwegian funding and we will continue on this path. I am convinced that in two years Râșnov will welcome over 400,000 tourists annually”. Dino Park Râșnov is a project in value of 5 million Euros, financed from European funding. The park is open daily between the hours of 9:30-20:00. The ticket price is 28 lei (about 6 Euros) for adults and 22 lei (about 5 Euros) for children. Children under three years of age have free entrance.

SEA DEVILS at GRIGORE ANTIPA Museum

WEPA (Wildlife Ecology Photography Association) opened on the 11th of June, in collaboration with “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History and the Embassy of Mexico in Romania, the exhibition “Remarkable meetings – Socorro Sea Devils”. It gathers 28 works, part of the pictures taken during the expedition in Socorro Islands in Mexico. SOCORRO 2015, which contributed to identifying a number of 11 sea devils, among which one for the first time – aimed at familiarizing the general public with the splendid underwater landscapes and sea devils (Manta Biostris). The materials have been donated to Pacific Manta Research Group, an association which has been monitoring the species for more than 30 years.

The exhibition inauguration was honoured by H.E. Agustin Gutierrez Canet, the Ambassador of Mexico in Romania, Luis Ovidiu Popa, General Manager of “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History, but also several hundred guests.
