New for blue air passengers
Once Blue Air carrier shifted all its flights at International “Henri Coanda” Airport passengers are offered two new facilities. Business Lounge brings extra comfort for those waiting to get on board. Passengers buying this service will receive at the ticketing Blue Air office, a personalized invitation to use, after check-in, on of the two dedicated rooms. Business Lounge offers a mini-bar, Wireless Internet, facilities for physically challenged passengers, for only 20 euro per person. The Protocol service gives a VIP treatment, including priority in boarding, for 70 euro per person, one way.
CEFA in Bucharest
ROMEXPO and the Chambers of Commerce of Romania hosted, at the end of last month, the Annual Reunion of the Director Committee of the Central European Fair Alliance – CEFA. The delegations where composed by representatives of Messe Munchen – Germany, Reed Exhibitions, Messe Wien – Austria, Messe Bozen – Germany, Novi Sad Fair and ICM – Serbia, Inter Expo & Congress Center and International Fair Plovdiv – Bulgaria etc. The international specialists agreed on consolidating and expanding partnership at European level regarding the fairs industry.
CEFA was founded in 1995. The alliance gathers 22 of the most important fair organizers in Central and South-Eastern Europe: Belgrade, Bolzano, Bucharest, Budapest, Chisinau, Graz, Klagenfurt, Munchen, Novi Sad, Plovdiv, Sofia, Vienna, Zagreb etc. This is the first meeting ever organized in Bucharest.
Pilot project for Europe
Romania adhered at the pilot project of the European Commission „50.000 tourists”. The document was signed in Brussels by Cristian Petrescu, minister of Regional Development and Tourism and Antonio Tajani, vice-president of European Commission and commissary for industry and entrepreneurship. The project targets an increase in the number of tourists coming from Latin America to Europe and, to the present, has been signed by France, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Greece, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
TOP event in the Capital
The fifth edition of Hotel Tourism & Leisure Investment Conference, one of the most important events dedicated to hotel industry in Romania, took place April 24th – 26th at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. Japan – sumo and sakura
Japan faced difficult, tragic, challenges in the past few years. Its inhabitants fight for remaking their lives but as well for rebuilding the tourist image of the country, a
destination for millions of passengers each year. Why would you go to Japan? This question was given answers by three “passionate” people: His Excellence Natsuo Amemiya, ambassador of Japan in Romania and Yoshihiro Katayama, counselor of the Embassy, and Clive Buckingham, one of the managers of Japan Travel Bureau UK. They have been approaching the beauty and uniqueness of the destination in the seminary “Ways of developing outgoing to Japan”, organized at Grand Hotel Continental in Bucharest. The most frequent word where Fuji, blooming trees, Sapporo Snow Festival, sumo, Rail Pass, sushi, sake an tea. Participants had the occasion to taste the last three tasty ingredients of this refined destination.
JW Marriott reborn
JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel finished the works at the Constanta Ballroom and the conference rooms. The modernization and the acquisition of last generation technology requested 730.000 euro.
The process had started in 2010, with the 10th annyversary of the hotel. The remaking of the Grand Ballroom and of the 1st floor pblic area, was followed in 2011 by the opening of the JW Steakhouse, and in 2012 with the inauguration of the updated Constanta Ballroom and several smaller conference facilities. “We already have a tradition on the events market of Bucharest and we wanted to offer as well the most modern technology for perfect events. We are happy to be able to offer such a complex conference center”- said Igael Porecki, general director of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.
Partnership for Olympic performance
TAROM and the Romanian Olympic and Sport Committee (ROSC) signed a partnership of the 2012 Olympic Games in London (July 27th – August 12th). The national airline will be the official carrier of the members of the Romanian Olympic Team to London. As a gift to the team, the Business Class of TAROM will wear the name of Olympic Class on all flights between April 15th and August 31st. All passengers of Olympic Class will be offered special rates, with a discount from 5% to 30% off the standard rates
„We are proud to be the airline of the Romanian Olympic Team and to participate in sustaining the performances of our sportspeople” – said Gabriela Bordea, general director of TAROM. Octavian Morariu, president of ROSC appreciated „the initiative of TAROM to introduce, for few months, the Olympic Class on its flights, because in such a way traveling with the national company will have an Olympic connotation.”
Who makes tourism in Transylvania?
About 80 companies gathered at the fifth edition of Transylvania Tourism Fair (TTF), that took place in Braşov Business Park (Braşov city), at the end of March. The edition had Dertour Romania as it main sponsor and the other sponsors where Austrian, Lufthansa, Swiss and Tess. Interesting presentations where carried out by: The Tourism Office of Hungary in Cluj, Dertour, World Travel, Brasov Metropolitan Agency, etc.
“Hungary is participating for the first time in TTF with a national stand. The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, Brasov City Hall, ANAT, travel agencies, hotels, several associations, where counted among the participants.” – said Sorin Dencescu, president of Krontur Expo, the fair’s organizer.
