The <\/span>Tempo hotel in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania, received the \u201cbest enterprise\u201d award at the Socrates International Awards Gala (<\/span>Oxfordrd<\/span>, UK)<\/span>. Opened in 2004 the unit is part of a Turkish hotel chain that includes properties in Istanbul and Izmir<\/span>. G\u00fclen Hashmi, general director of Tempo hotel in Bucharest, said: \u201cthis title given to us in Oxford reprezents the crowning of a passion that led to creating this business. Our ideas merged with the tourism potential of Bucharest, a city with a market dinamic on which we have placed our bet in<\/span> 2000. I can say that the potential of the city inspired us! I am very happy that the success and the standards of our hotel Tempo in Bucharest made us create the hotel chain with the same name in Turkey\u201d.

DUBAI has office in BUC<\/span>HAREST<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dubai Corporation for\u00a0Tourism\u00a0& Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) opened a tourism promotion office in Bucharest, as a result of the large number of Romanian guests that have been visiting the Emirate in the last years. Over <\/span>46.700 have chosen this destination in 2015. For this year the market research estimates a <\/span>20% increase in the number of Romanian visitors that will choose Dubai as their holiday destination. \u201eAfter Prague and Warsow, Bucharest becomes the third capital city of a country in the region to have a DTCMC\u201d – said<\/span> Dana Nabeel Abdulla Kamber, Strategic Alliances Manager of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing. <\/span>Every year Dubai receives about 16 million visitors from around the globe. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Royal Hotel will be 2nd Mercure<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This summer the Royal Hotel in Bucharest will be affiliated to the Mercure brand, becoming the second unit in Romania, after Mercure Bucuresti City Center. The contract has been signed and the rebranding will happen at the end of the first semester of 2017, after a complete makeover of the location. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

ROMANIA – 8,5% increase in travel<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the data of<\/span> Eurostat (<\/span>The EU office for Statistics), in 2016, the fastest growing markets in what concerns the number of overnights in hotels and other B&B units, are:<\/span> Bulgaria – 17,9%, Slovakia – 16%, Poland – 11,8%, Cyprus – 10,9% and Romania – 8,5%. The only markets that registered significant falls are France (minus 4,6%) and UK (minus 4,5%). Looking at EU overall there has been a 2% raise in 2016, in the number of overnights in hotels and other B&B units, the numbers reaching a record of 2,8 billion nights.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
