The city of Craiova, in Southern Romania, enters the select world of international hotel brands. The new Ramada Plaza located here absorbed an investment of 14 million Euros, being the only hotel of its kind outside the Capital city of Bucharest. It inaugurates a new chapter in the book of 4 stars plus services with its business, SPA and gastronomy offers.

\u201cIt is a privilege for me to be a part of such an ambitious project. Our goal is to become the number one business address in Craiova\u201d \u2013 said Marcello Pauw, General Manager Ramada Plaza Craiova. The hotel has162 rooms, standard and executive apartments, a SPA & Wellness centre, two restaurants, three conference halls and a Grand ballroom (Constantin Br\u00e2ncu\u0219i – 507 square meters) with a capacity of about 550 persons. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201dWe estimate a 2,5 million Euros turnover in 2016. 90% of it will be coming from the business market\u201d- said Pauw. The project management and the affiliation process of the hotel at the Ramada Plaza brand has been supervised by Trend Hospitality Management and Consulting, partner of Wyndham Hotel Group in Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Four restaurants in Bucharest – Baca\u2019s Kitchen, Zexe Zahana, Le Bistrot Francais, Joseph by Joseph Hadad – are listed among the best 1000 restaurants in the world. \u201dLa Liste\u201d is created by experimented chefs that confidentially evaluated the specialized guides of the countries. The first place is taken by Japan, with 127 restaurants, followed by France with 118, USA with 101, China with 69, Spain having 52 etc.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>18 representatives of the restaurants in Romania met at the Annual Contest Ma\u00eetre \u2018D, organized by the National Association of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ma\u00eetre d\u2019h\u00f4tel Romania (ANMH<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>). The 19th edition was hosted by the historical location of the House of Army in Bucharest. Four of the participants made it to the final and competed for the grand prize, the\u201d Marian Bugan Trophy 2015\u201d. \u201eThe final ranking was: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/span>The great winner – Marian Bogdan, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ma\u00eetre \u2018D<\/span><\/span><\/span>; 1st place and the gold medal – Mihai Ciucura\u0219, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ma\u00eetre \u2018D<\/span><\/span><\/span> (both from Naan restaurant in Bucharest); 2nd place and b<\/span><\/span><\/span>ronze medal – Sim Teodora Roxana, waiter at the restaurant of the Continental Hotel in Oradea. The 3rd place was taken by Iustin Iorgulescu<\/span><\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ma\u00eetre \u2018D<\/span><\/span><\/span> at <\/span><\/span><\/span>Continental Hotel in Sibiu.\u201d – said Niculae Pup\u0103z\u0103, president of ANMH.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In December the Romanian carrier Blue Air opened the Bucharest \u2013 Glasgow flights. Since the beginning the occupancy of the aircrafts has been over 95%, a real optimistic aspect for the company. The direct flight operates every Thursday and Sunday, according to the winter schedule 2015 \u2013 2016, and the summer schedule for 2016. „Taking in account the tourist potential of Romania and Scotland we believe this will be a popular choice among tourists and business travellers alike. In the Glasgow area there is an important Romanian community and the opening of this route in December came especially that they could fully enjoy the winter holidays\u201d- said Gheorghe R\u0103caru, General Director of Blue Air. Bucharest \u2013 Glasgow completes the over 20 new connections opened by Blue Air from Romania but also from its external bases in Torino Caselle and Larnaca. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The tour operator Christian Tour launched on the Romanian market a new travel concept and brand called Pellerin. It is a part of the Holidays for the Soul, dedicated to those that whish to travel to religiuos sites, as pilgrims, in Greece, Turkey, Israel, Jordan or Egipt, but also in Romania. <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201eThe Pellerin brand came alive as an answer to the various requests from our customers. The most appreciated destinations of the kind are Israel, Greece (Athos Mountain) and Turkey, and in Romania the monasteries in Bucovina and V\u00e2lcea areas and the St. Andrew Monastery in Dobrogea\u201d – said Marius Pandel, CEO Christian Tour.
